Image editing method especially in case of a digital copier implements image editing in two erase modes – an inside erase mode and a paint-out erase mode. If the inside erase mode is meant for erasing an image or images lying in a marked area, marked by a marker, on the other hand the paint-out erase mode targets to erase only an image which has been painted out by a marker.
